"Why
do we specialize in diagnosing and treating peripheral venous disease?
First of all, there is a real need in this community for healthcare practitioners who
help people with their varicose veins problems. What's more, we truly enjoy what we do.
We get personal and professional satisfaction from helping our patients overcome their
venous problems
and we find it rewarding to help people to both look and feel
better." "Whether you are seeing us for a cosmetic or medical
condition, you can rest assured that we will recommend the appropriate
solution based on your individual needs."
Dr. Schwartz is a dual-board certified general and vascular surgeon who
has been in surgical practice for over 10 years. He is a specialist in minimally
invasive procedures, performing advanced interventional procedures in vascular surgery, and
advanced laparoscopic procedures in general surgery.
He has practiced both clinical and academic medicine during his career,
employed as a full-time faculty professor at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic
Medicine from 1996 until 2002 where he served as Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery.
He has also been
affiliated with the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners
since 1996, where he continues to aid in the creation and development of
the National Board examinations taken by medical students throughout the
country.
Dr. Schwartz relocated to
Kansas City
in 2003 to be closer to family, and has been affiliated with Vein Centers for Excellence since that time, now
devoting his practice entirely to the treatment of venous disease. He has been involved in
numerous research projects, and has published several scientific papers in such respected
peer reviewed journals as Radiology and The Southern Medical Journal. In addition, he
is a former winner of the Robert C. Erwin Literary Achievement Award,
and has lectured at national and regional level meetings
throughout the country.
Dr. Schwartz is pleased to have joined the Vein Centers for Excellence
team, and to provide high quality care for the
Kansas City
metropolitan area.
